The Crew

Studio Rubix grew from a wee brainstorm whilst co-founders Kate and Toby were living in Russia balancing babies, professional rugby and culture shock. Health & wellness is a bit like a Rubik’s Cube; a little unpredictable and a constant challenge to juggle the various elements. There’s the physical, your nutrition, mental health, social relationships, restorative health & self-identity. Many people do not have balance. That is where we come in. We help you create it.

Prior to starting this business in 2014, I was a professional rugby player for over 10 years. When your job is to be as fit and strong as possible with weekly games to challenge your abilities there is a huge pressure to be at your physical and mental prime. This experience has shaped me as a trainer immensely. I am passionate in working with everyday people and athletes to motivate them, manage or prevent injuries, and encourage people to move and function better.
I’m also busy being the best dad ever to my 4 daughters. My daily mission is to teach them as much as I can…but not let them beat me! After rugby I found a new passion for running and love hitting the trails with my mates and Kate.

I wear many hats in the business but my main one is working with weight & body image concerns, eating disorder recovery, chronic dieting and digestive related health concerns.  I completely reject the diet culture out there and rather incorporate intuitive eating and non-diet approaches to create positive and fulfilling relationships with food.  I have over 10 years of experience as a Dietitian and love what I do. Let me help you or your loved ones.
I have also been busy creating a family; I’m a mum to 4 little girls and aim to keep things real and practical. I thrive off being fit and strong combining my loves of trail running and reformer pilates.

I’m a positive individual who loves to help others feel proud of their achievements and I enjoy being able to share my knowledge and encourage others to make living well a priority in their life.  I am working towards a Masters in Health Science with a particular interest in exercise prescription for chronic disease, and am also a registered pelvic floor exercise specialist in which I enjoy working with pregnant and postpartum women. In my spare time I enjoy exploring the outdoors and keeping fit!

I have a passion for improving human movement and performance and my goal is to help people first move better and then move more often. In my spare time you’ll often find me out exploring with my wife and kids or doing my own exercise!

I would like to describe myself as a friendly and positive individual who loves a good chat. I originate from Japan but moved to NZ after the Fukushima disaster to go to school. Growing up, I was involved in different types of sports, mostly focusing on track & field. I have always been interested in the power of the human mind which has led me to further my sports psychological studies at Massey University. I have completed my masters and I would love to share my knowledge around mindfulness. In my spare time you will often find me surfing at the beach.

The experiences in my life are what have fueled my passion for holistic health. From a young age I was dedicated to the Martial Art Taekwondo, this saw me earning a blackbelt and representing New Zealand. The training and competitions tested me both physically and mentally. In 2017 my life changed because my Mum was diagnosed with stage 4 bowel cancer and died later that year. During this time I started to consider more about nutrition and my interest for it grew. My passion for nutrition and physical activity led me to my studies. I’m excited to share my passion and help individuals strive to feel more balanced in life.
