WHAT MADE YOU CONTACT STUDIO RUBIX?

A friend suggested that I take a look as she knew that I lacked the confidence of going to a big “gym” and that Studio Rubix had the privacy of 1 on 1 sessions with a Dietitian and Exercise Specialist; for me it was the complete package.

WHAT ARE YOUR HEALTH AND FITNESS GOALS?

To live a long happy, healthy and active life and to create healthy habits

HOW DO YOU STAY MOTIVATED TO ACHIEVE YOUR GOALS?

I look back to see where I have come from and being surrounded by people that have the same goals, so we keep each other motivated. Join local groups, Tri club, Striders, etc.

WHAT CHALLENGES (IF ANY) DO YOU FACE IN STRIVING FOR YOUR GOALS?

My confidence due to my size and when in the past you have people call you names when out exercising, it knocks your confidence. But with the help of Kate & Toby I have realised that I shouldn’t worry about them and remind myself why I am out being active. Also trying to find nice activewear for plus size people! Also the balance between, work, home & exercise

TELL US ABOUT A COUPLE OF SUCCESSES THIS YEAR?

2015 has been a year where I needed to look after my health & fitness. At Studio Rubix, I have managed to lose a few kilo’s and cm’s {well actually Staci, you’re being modest, you’re nearly at the 10kg mark and more than 15cm off the waist! Awesome result

we recon} but it is the gains that I have really appreciated strength & mobility. I have become a happier person and most of all my self-confidence and belief in myself has improved. I found that if I set myself small goals by entering events to help keep me focused and target my training towards that event, this year I have managed to participate in a few events;

Whanau Tri, Stiders Super 7s, Wanganui Masters 5 & 10Km, Waitarere 5km, Wellington 10km, 10km for 10K cancer walk, Palmerston North 10km, 45km Tour De Manawatu, Ironmaori Duathlon, 1/4 Ironman…whew!
