Spring Into Wellness: Refresh, Reflect, and Recharge
By Nic Allison
The weather is getting warmer, the lure of summer evenings outside is closer and the change in the air might be just the catalyst for change in your daily life too.
Spring is an awesome opportunity to reflect on your health and wellness routine and check in about your personal priorities. It’s a great time to look at how far you’ve come on your fitness journey or possibly to be honest about where you want to go from here.
Maybe this is your time to set off on a completely new fitness routine, to rethink a habit that isn’t serving you, or to try something completely new day to day.
Perhaps this is your time to challenge yourself? Or to work on letting go of something that is holding you back from being the best version of you, that you want to be.
When was the last time you set a physical goal or re -set your fitness goals?
Refresh your fitness routine by trying out a Reformer Pilates class, moving up to the next spring option on a move you’ve done for years or maybe giving a Reformer Ride or HIIT class a go!
We’re always here to hear about and support you with your fitness goals. Maybe that looks like trying a few Personal Training sessions to get your body moving in a completely different way, or giving the monthly challenge a whirl on your way through the studio one day.
And beyond Studio Rubix, Spring is the perfect time to look outside for endless ways to keep active and move your body.
Use the lighter nights to walk along the river pathway with the whole family. Hit the Sledge Track or the Manawatu Gorge for a weekend nature burst. Get out to Himatangi or Foxton Beach and sit near the ocean with some fresh sea sounds as you contemplate those goals or your wellbeing journey to date.
And if a fitness shift is not what you need right now, something we can all try to work on, is making space for mindfulness among our days. Whether that’s in the way you start the morning, making sure you stop for lunch, or take a moment to sit in the car and breathe a few deep breaths before you drive home.
The way we think and talk about ourselves impacts the way we show up in the world and in turn how we take on life’s daily challenges. Check in with the language you are using for and about yourself as there might also be something to consider reframing or thinking differently about.
It’s easy to put off what might feel hard – but making a small change just might turn out to be the best decision you could ever make.
Remember it doesn’t have to be taking on a giant bold goal… though it could be! Shifting your mindset, or decluttering the negative thoughts can get the ball rolling and clear the way for something that turns out to be more impactful too.
Try starting with a few minutes more of stretching and a few moments less of stressing and just see how that turns out.
