Servings: Makes 18 Pieces

Our Mocha Slice combines natural, wholesome ingredients into a simple, energising snack that’s as satisfying as it is nourishing. A nutty base of cashews, dates, and peanut butter pairs perfectly with a smooth, coffee-infused cocoa icing, giving you a balanced combination of protein, healthy fats, and natural sweetness. Quick to prepare and versatile, this slice can also be rolled into bliss balls for a handy on-the-go option, supporting your nutrition and energy throughout the day.

Ingredients:

Base Ingredients:

  • 2 cups raw cashew nuts
  • 1 cup dates – pre-soaked
  • 4 tsp coconut oil (melted)
  • 1.5 tbsp smooth peanut butter
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • OPTIONAL: 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • OPTIONAL: 2-3 Tbsp of shredded coconut

Mocha Icing Ingredients:

  • 6 tbsp coconut oil (melted)
  • 1.5 tbsp maple syrup
  • 6 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1.5 tbsp instant coffee
  • OPTIONAL: 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Directions

  1. Put base ingredients in a blender and blend until it clumps together.
  2. Place baking paper in the baking tray.
  3. Spoon base in baking tray and press down firmly with spatula or back of spoon.
  4. In bowl, mix together mocha icing ingredients, pour over base.
  5. Put the tray in the freezer for 1hr to set. After that store in fridge.
  6. Cut into 3cm squares and serve.

Notes:

  • Quick Bliss Balls: Blitz the base ingredients in the blender then roll into balls using your hands and pop in freezer to set.
  • Soften dates first in hot water for 5-10 min before blending.
  • If the base feels too dry when blending, add a teaspoon or two of coconut oil to help bind it.
  • Swap half the cashews for almonds or hazelnuts for a different nutty flavour.
  • Taste-test the icing to adjust coffee strength or sweetness before pouring over the base.
  • Keep in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week, or freeze for longer.
